FANAL® - 25-Year Warranty

Thank you for purchasing our product. In this document, you will find a description of the terms associated with the product warranty, which we recommend you read carefully.

The 25-year Fanal warranty is supplementary to any legal warranty provided by the local government where the product is located.

This warranty becomes effective once the buyer or customer successfully registers their purchased product on our official website: http://www.fanal.com.mx/registrodeproducto. The warranty period is 25 years, which, after registration, will be counted from the date of purchase of the product by the end consumer.

We recommend that all customers complete this registration within the first 30 days of purchase to activate the 25-year Fanal warranty and obtain the maximum support for their Fanal product.

Aspects Covered by the Fanal Product Warranty

The Fanal product warranty covers a wide range of aspects to ensure your satisfaction and peace of mind. This includes free product repair and timely supply of spare parts for defects or coverage included in the warranty, in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in this document, as well as domestic transportation/shipping of replacement products or spare parts included within the warranty. Additionally, we provide detailed installation instructions and maintenance recommendations for our products, ensuring their proper use according to their nature. It is important to note that we do not offer technical assistance for the installation or maintenance of the products. Furthermore, the warranty includes the physical delivery of product replacements when necessary, but it is the customer's responsibility to re-register the product in a timely manner. Fanal undertakes to maintain the availability of spare parts, components, and supplies, as well as trained labor, during the term established by the competent authority and during the validity period of the product warranty, once the corresponding product registration has been completed.

Mechanism Warranty:

Fanal guarantees the mechanism of its products for a maximum period of 25 years against manufacturing defects, materials, and malfunction. This warranty extends only to the user who registers the product through the brand's website. It does not apply to other individuals who have not purchased the product. The warranty covers defects in materials and manufacturing, for the time during which the original user occupies the residence in which the products were first installed and/or for 25 years, whichever occurs first.

Finish Warranty:

A 5-year warranty is offered for the finish of Fanal products, starting from the Product registration. This warranty covers defects in the finish resulting in tarnishing, peeling, or discoloration of the product, provided that the product has been installed in residential locations and for residential purposes by the original user. The warranty does not cover the deterioration of the product finish or damage resulting from improper maintenance, cleaning, or installation, incorrect use, abuse, alteration, force majeure, accidents, third-party actions, or natural phenomena, according to the usage instructions established in the instruction manuals found at http://www.fanal.com.mx/literatura.

To maintain the external finish of the product, it is essential to clean it thoroughly with only water and mild soap, and dry it with a clean cotton cloth. It is recommended to follow this procedure twice a week, and in coastal areas (near the sea) daily. Under no circumstances should abrasive, acidic, corrosive, or solvent elements be used on the product. Failure to follow these instructions will void the finish warranty.

Electronic Components Warranty:

For products containing electronic components, Fanal offers a 1-year warranty from the Product registration. This warranty covers any electronic defect that may arise during the normal use of the product. The warranty does not cover deterioration or defects resulting from improper maintenance, cleaning, or installation, incorrect use, abuse, alteration, force majeure, accidents, third-party actions, or natural phenomena, according to the usage instructions established in the instruction manuals found at http://www.fanal.com.mx/literatura.

Warranty Exclusions:

The warranty will not apply to any Product that has been installed in a commercial location and/or for commercial purposes and uses. That is, it only applies to installations in residences, residential locations, and/or for residential purposes and uses. To verify if a product has been installed in a commercial location and/or for commercial purposes and uses, Fanal requests the installation address during product registration. Subsequently, validation is carried out to ensure that the product is installed in a residential location and/or for residential purposes and uses, as stipulated in the warranty. In some cases, Fanal may send visitors or technicians to conduct a physical inspection of the product and its installation location. This ensures compliance with the warranty terms and the protection of our customers.

Additionally, Fanal does not cover defects in the finishes of its 32D, 26, or 26D references in coastal or high corrosion risk areas after 1 year of product installation.

The warranty does not cover the following cases:

1. Damages derived from improper use or installation for which the product was not designed, in accordance with the instructions provided in the product instruction manual.

2. Wear and tear from normal use, in accordance with the permitted uses and instructions indicated in the product instruction manual.

3. Damages caused by external factors, such as natural phenomena or accidents, abuse, alteration, force majeure, third-party actions.

4. Defects caused by unauthorized modifications to the product, by the use of unauthorized parts or spare parts in the product and/or by repairs or interventions in the product carried out by unauthorized providers or third parties.

The product should only be cleaned with a damp cloth with water, following the instructions indicated in the product instruction manual. The installation and maintenance recommendations of the product instruction manual must be followed. Warranty Claims:

To make a claim under the 25-year Fanal warranty, supplementary to any other legal warranty provided by the local government, the customer must present the following at the place of purchase of the product: (i) the product, (ii) the invoice or purchase receipt, (iii) this policy, and (iv) the warranty registration proof, which can also be requested directly from the Fanal brand through http://www.fanal.com.mx/servicioalcliente. For cases involving more than 50 units, the customer must also register the purchased products on the website and can contact the Fanal brand directly for assistance.

The 25-year Fanal warranty covers the quality, suitability, and safety of the products found exclusively under the registered trademark.

* The quality of a product refers to its ability to meet the inherent characteristics and attributes provided about it. If a product does not meet the expected or informed properties and attributes by Fanal, it is considered to have failed in terms of quality.

* The suitability of a product relates to its ability to meet the need or needs for which it has been produced or marketed. This implies that the product must not only meet the anticipated needs but also the conditions informed to the consumer through the care and use manual, which can be found through http://www.fanal.com.mx/literatura.

* Product safety refers to its ability to not present unreasonable risks to the health or integrity of consumers in normal use situations. If a product does not meet the safety requirements established in technical regulations or sanitary measures, it will be considered unsafe.

Solutions:

In the event that there is a defect in the Product that violates the warranty, ASSA ABLOY Americas Residential, Inc. or any of its subsidiaries, at its discretion, will repair or replace the defective part of the Product or refund the purchase price as the exclusive remedy.

Fanal undertakes to replace the product at no charge to the consumer if it is determined that the defect is covered by the warranty. This will be done after an evaluation of the product by the place of purchase or directly by Fanal, as appropriate.

If a customer experiences any failure covered by this warranty in terms of the quality, suitability, or safety of a Fanal product, the brand will offer one of the following options, at its own discretion, to address the issue properly:

* Repair: If the problem can be solved by repairing the product, Fanal undertakes to carry out such repair free of charge through an allied or expert technician.

* Replacement: If the product defect is irreparable or persistent, Fanal will proceed to replace the defective product with a new one, either directly or through a distributor, importer, or ally.

* Refund: In exceptional cases where none of the above options are viable, a full refund of the product purchase price will be offered through the distributor, importer, or place where the product was purchased.

Return Policy:

Defective products can be returned to the place of purchase or to a local Fanal distributor/importer. In both cases, a description of the problem, as well as contact information and the approximate purchase date, must be provided. Distributors or importers of the Fanal brand will have the option to validate with the Fanal brand, according to this policy, the registration of the product on the website for the application of such return.

Limitation of Liability:

Fanal, and by extension, ASSA ABLOY Americas Residential, Inc., shall not be liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, including, but not limited to, loss of profits, business interruption, or property damage, that may arise from the use or inability to use Fanal products, even if the possibility of such damages has been reported. In no event shall Fanal's total liability exceed the purchase price of the defective product.
